Tragedy struck Jeju Air in Seoul, South Korea on Sunday, December 29th. Today, another Jeju Air flight encountered issues with its landing gear. The aircraft, which departed from Gimpo Airport in Seoul bound for Jeju, experienced landing gear problems shortly after takeoff. The specific issue has not been identified yet. The plane had to return to Gimpo Airport.
Fortunately, the aircraft was able to land safely. According to Reuters citing Yonhap news agency on Monday, the aircraft with flight number 7C101 departed Gimpo at 6:36 am local time. This incident mirrored the one from the previous day (December 29th) involving an exploding aircraft.

After landing back at Gimpo, the passengers were transferred to an alternative unit of the same type, a Boeing B737-800, which departed at 8:30 am local time.

However, 21 passengers opted not to continue their journey due to safety concerns.

The captain contacted ground control upon detecting the landing gear issue and, after confirming normal function following additional measures, decided to return to the airport for safety inspection.

The aircraft involved in the Sunday accident experienced landing gear problems, with three wheels malfunctioning. The plane crash-landed, bursting into flames after hitting a wall. Sadly, 179 passengers lost their lives, with only two survivors.
